HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH A SILHOUETTE

Photographing a silhouette is very easy. Make sure that all of the light is behind the subject. Do not use a flash, and make sure the subject is in proper focus. You can do this with most any camera as long as you can turn off the flash! You can also accentuate the silhouette in photoshop by darkening the shadows, and lightening the highlights. Use a short depth of field to keep the subject in focus and the background blurred. Play around and get creative. I can be quite a bit of fun to see what you turn up with!

BACHELOR BUTTON

To me, the focal point in this photo is not the subject in focus, but rather the red heart shaped flower in the lower right corner. Sometimes, I like to break all of the "rules."
