Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love to photograph the fireworks! Of course my favorite part is getting to blow them up myself, but next to chasing lightning - this is so very much my heart and soul!

I know that some photographers might argue that some of these shots are overexposed or underexposed, maybe not composed quite the way they believe they should be. I say that I really just think they are pretty, just as my eyes saw them in the sky.
Last night was the first night in our town that we were legally able to light em' up. I wish I could have found a high point somewhere to have taken an overview shot of the city. I think everyone was outside having a "blast" so to speak!! We lit up a few of our smaller things, saving the bigger ones for Friday night. We are having our annual 4th party on the 3rd this year so we can drive over to Sterling on the actual holiday and enjoy their festival. They always put on such a great display for folks to enjoy, along with a carnival and other events throughout the day.Today and tomorrow I have to work at the liquor store and I expect it will be quite busy. A friend of mine is bringing me a sample of what she says are the best diet pills in the world - I may give them a try if the ingredients list agrees with my brain. I have to do the grocery shopping early this morning before the heat takes hold of the day, to get prepared for the barbecue. I think we are going to stick to the good ol' fashioned hamburgers and hot dogs, along with some homemade ice cream and chocolate cake. I am really looking forward to hanging out with family and friends, and I just might bring home a few adult beverages for the holiday as well!! I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th!!
