KANSAS LIGHTNING

And this is why I love digital photography more than using film! Out of about 90 shots, I got around 9 keepers. Had I been using film, the success rate would have been much lower. Even though I know what settings to use - it is pretty much impossible to know exactly when and where the lightning will strike. For that reason, using film would be far to expensive with a whole lot of waste!

SUMMER STORMS

Last night's thunderstorms brought some wild lightning. Mostly it also brought heavy rain, which kept me confined to the indoors. Oh how I wish I could have been outside with my camera.

The sky was amazing as well, showing different beauty in opposite directions. I don't know what causes the pink and red tints to the clouds, I can only speculate it must be the sun, mixed with dust particles or somthing to that effect. Beauty all the same.

FLIRTING WITH ELECTRIC

In retrospect, I think I was far to close to this storm with regards to safety. Something just draws me in, closer and closer. An adrenaline rush, flirting with danger... it fascinates me.

My most favorite thing to photograph is the lightning. I find myself waiting for the weather to turn, and bring me what I am seeking. It is so beautiful, and yet so full of turmoil.
